FRIED CHICKEN RESTAURANT
The fried chicken restaurant, in Toronto, Canada, was spending
considerable money in drain and grease trap maintenance. They not only
had problems with frequent emptying of a grease trap, which stank whenever
opened, but drains required considerable maintenance and they were susceptible
to city fines for excess grease in their effluent. Many products on
the market had been tried without success.
Treatment
Program
One Bacta-Pur® BACTIVATOR™ model R-500 was installed. The
machine automatically and continuously physiologically conditions 500
mL/day of Bacta-Pur® XLG so that the cultures are not only active
but famished prior entering the grease trap. No modifications to any
of the restaurants procedures were required.
Bacta-Pur® products are strictly natural, and unlike many so called
biological products Bacta-Pur® products contain no emulsifiers,
soaps, surfactants or other chemicals, which merely send the grease
down stream. The Bacta-Pur® System first converts grease into water
soluble free fatty acids, which cannot restick to walls of drains and
sewers. The free fatty acids are then consumed as food by the beneficial
bacteria, which continue to clean drains and the environment down stream.
Results
The time series of photos show how the grease cake
was removed from the grease traps. The restaurant is
now saving $1000 /yr on drain maintenance. The
Bacta-Pur® System is being installed in other franchise
outlets to increase the restaurant’s profitability.
